Relocation Expenses

Relocation expenses will only be reimbursed, if this has been confirmed in writing by KIT prior to the relocation. In case of professors, this confirmation is usually issued in connection with their appointment.


Reimbursement covers the following expenses:

  • Expenses for the transportation of goods
  • Travel expenses
  • Realtor fees
  • Rent
  • Other relocation expenses in the form of a lump sum

Reimbursement of relocation expenses must be requested in writing to the Human Resources Business Unit (PSE) within a period of one year.

Relocation expenses will only be reimbursed, if the relocation takes place within five years from the day of the reimbursement confirmation. Reimbursed relocation expenses must be returned, if the person leaves KIT less than two years after the relocation for personal reasons.
