Leisure activities at KIT
The possibilities for leisure activities at KIT are diverse and varied. The sporting and cultural activities on offer range from various sports groups on the South and North Campus and the "Walk-In" to the symphony and chamber orchestra, jazz choir or university theater. As part of the extensive sports program in the areas of popular and competitive sports, the special needs of disabled people are also taken into account. There is certainly something to suit every taste.

KIT Freundeskreis- und Fördergesellschaft e.V.
The KIT Freundeskreis- und Fördergesellschaft e.V. (KFG) serves to promote research, teaching, innovation, academic life and infrastructure at the university.
Created from the merger of the "KIT-Fördergesellschaft e.V." and the "Freundeskreis des Forschungszentrums Karlsruhe e.V." in May 2019, the association pursues the goal of promoting solidarity and communication at KIT, creating links between science and practice, deepening relationships between teachers and students, honoring special achievements in science and administration, and maintaining KIT's contact with former students, scientists, other scientific institutions, companies and organizations.
The non-profit association supports institutes and facilities of KIT in teaching and research as well as in cultural and social matters of students through funding measures that cannot be covered by federal or state funds. Examples of funding measures are the "Studium Generale", exhibitions and scientific conferences at KIT, excursions and research trips as well as music and art at KIT, and also bonuses for special achievements for employees in administration and infrastructure.

KIT Shuttle
The KIT shuttle enables an environmentally friendly and fast connection between the South Campus, North Campus and East Campus with the help of KIT hydrogen buses and is available to KIT employees and students only for business purposes.

Canteen and cafeteria
There are various catering facilities for employees at KIT. In particular, the canteen and cafeterias on the South Campus and the "Casino" canteen on the North Campus are available for lunch and dinner or simply for small snacks. Both locations also regularly offer vegetarian and vegan dishes. In addition to the canteen on South Campus, the Studierendenwerk also runs the "gourmet canteen" called Update, which serves fine dining dishes in a cozy atmosphere. For snacks, KIT employees can use the "hot bar" in the cafeteria. In the mensa and the canteen, they can pay cashless with their KIT Card, which can be topped up at any time at the cash top-up stations.

Parking and access to the campus
In order to enter the North Campus and to drive on the South and East Campus, employees need an access authorization from KIT.
