Vacation, Special Leave, and Times off Work

The annual leave for civil servant university lecturers whose regular working hours are spread over five days in a calendar week is generally 30 working days. Full-time members of the university with teaching duties must take their vacation during the lecture-free period, unless official reasons require a different arrangement. Vacation must always be taken in the current calendar year. If it is not possible to take the leave, it must be used up by 30.09. of the following year, otherwise it will expire.

Professors may be granted special leave to a limited extent. This also applies to leaves of absence.

For professors who are not covered by collective agreements, the relevant regulations for civil servant university lecturers on vacation, special leave and leave of absence shall apply.
