Commissioners at KIT

Compliance with legal requirements and internal regulations has become considerably more important in recent years. At KIT, a large number of commissioners with special technical and professional expertise, such as the Safety Officer or the Data Protection Officer, make sure that regulations in diverse areas are consequently observed.

In principle, but also due to the different research areas and disciplines, a large number of special regulations must be observed at KIT, which serve to protect people, animals and the environment. In order to guarantee the protective purpose of the various regulations, the legislator in many cases provides for the appointment of commissioners with special technical and expert knowledge to ensure compliance with these special laws, to monitor compliance, but above all to advise, educate and train the people affected by these regulations.

For this reason, KIT has dedicated, motivated and specially trained commissioners for the various specific technical and legal areas where compliance with rules and prescribed behavior is particularly important. These commissioners make sure that regulations in the most diverse areas are consequently observed. In particular, however, they provide advice and assistance to all members and other members of KIT.
